We are searching for a motivated & experienced Lead Sanitation Technician

The Sanitation technician lead cleans and sanitizes critical and non-critical food processing equipment or other related environmental surfaces in conformance to company standards and applicable health laws and has the ability to use all necessary sanitation equipment. Assigns shift task to Sanitation Technicians and sanitors depending on production needs and availability. In addition, leads and trains the rest of the sanitation techs and sanitors. Ensures sanitation crew productivity and efficiency during the shift and especially during the weekend shutdowns, coordinating with other Sanitation Technicians, production or mechanics on duty for cleaning and TPM, ensuring all assigned work is timely completed.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES & ACCOUNTABILITIES:

• Leads shift Sanitation Technicians and sanitors, and complete work orders generated from the supervisor or reassign priority tasks according to equipment criticality to reduce downtime and increase productivity.
• Verifies tasks from all sanitation techs and sanitors of the team to ensure all the tasks are completed to standard level.
• Supports production sanitizing equipment and performing TPM.
• Provides shift reports, board communication, sanitation shift walkthrough documentation and daily shift debriefing.
• Report to Supervisor or Manager any performance deviances or safety violation.
• Responsible for shift assigned project or continuous improvements given from the sanitation supervisor or Manager.
• Performs equipment sanitation, adjust and remove conveyor belts, guards and covers during maintenance and sanitation operations.
• Perform specialized sanitation interventions on deemed critical equipment.
• Support production or sanitation when needed and requested by manager.
• Assembles and disengages equipment requiring cleaning and sanitizing.
• Cleans mixers, proofers, elevators, ovens, conveyors, scales, dividers, or any other equipment according to job assignments.
• Cleans and sanitizes Coating Room equipment, food contact belts, freezer and cooling spirals, and processing tanks.
• Cleans out oil, machines, greases, equipment structures, conveyors, screens and filters.
• Perform TPM defined tasks and complete documentation via CMMS (when ready).
• Must have the ability to use and control all sanitation equipment, such as the floor scrubber, power washers and steam cleaner.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement culture.
• Attends company scheduled meetings when applicable (i.e., safety meetings, production meetings, sanitation meetings and maintenance meetings).
• Informs supervisor, manager or QA of any problems or complications that may arise.
• Performs all work in accordance to OHSA standards for general industry.
• Upkeep of Sanitation Technician tools and inform QA or manage missing tooling.
• Participates in sanitation practices trainings for equipment by internal means or OEM.
• Participates in tasks, CMMS or SOPs for Sanitation Technician duties.
• Participates in special projects and performs other duties as required.
• Will back up the Supervisor when necessary, during days off, vacations and sickness.
• Weekend work is mandatory for this position.

• ·         Adhering to Company policies, procedures, and directives regarding standards of workplace behavior in completing job duties and assignments.  Must follow all Company Safety policies, as well as all GMP regulations and all lock-out/tag-out requirements according to OSHA requirements.
• ·         As an employee at Europastry USA, you must also be aware of issues associated with food safety and safe food handling practices that are relevant to your job. Formal training is not required, but in house Food Safety Training conducted by a qualified staff member is mandatory. You must know how to recognize, prevent and alleviate food safety hazards. This position requires good working knowledge of the SQF code
