As the Lead Department Operations Clerk you will have complete oversight of university Receiving and Distribution, including staffing and job performance. You will provide leadership, management, analysis and support for the Manager. This position will focus on operational aspects of the organization and will include direct functional supervisory responsibilities. This will also include evaluating, identifying and analyzing efficiency issues to assist in the development of service improvement and cost savings within Materials Management and Distribution. You will manage and approving time-off request, including holding employees accountable for their job responsibilities. You will review, maintain and develop standard operating procedures. This position will help motivate, train, and guide staff that need improvement or direction, yet acknowledge hard work and out of the box thinking. You must demonstrate high standards of customer service, organization, timeliness on getting tasks done, and utilize resources efficiently. Promote fiscal stewardship and affordability in all decisions, with operational efficiency, facility care, and return on investment in mind. You will participate in budget planning process, maintain monthly/quarterly review of assigned performance metrics, and follow approved procedures for care of university funds. You will maintain oversight of inventory and MMAD vehicles. You will also enter postage due and business reply mail into spreadsheet.
What We're Looking For:
Education and Experience:
- High school degree or equivalent required
- Three (3) or more years of supervisory experience, or overall knowledge of the operations and years of experience will be considered
- Consideration will be given to an equivalent combination of required education and work experience
Skills Needed:
- Combination of degree and work experience with Materials Management, Logistics, and other Customer Service and Business functions
- Demonstrate written and oral communications skills and analytical skills regarding business related reports required. Ability to pull information out of SAP, Arriba, TrackPad, and other systems as needed
- Supervision and business management abilities will be necessary
- Materials management related customer service/business experience required
Preferred:
- Supervisory and experience in Higher Education setting
- Knowledge of the university buildings
