Job Summary:

The Department of Information Services at SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University is seeking an Hourly/Per DiemLead Programmer Analyst.

The Lead Programmer Analyst's role focuses on EAGLE systems installation and reporting, but may aid with other applications as needed. Job functions include but will not be limited to the following:

  • Generation of Ad Hoc reports using the EAGLE RG Report Writer Software.
  • Coding of screen edits using EAGLE Acc-IMAGE.
  • Analysis of features/functions of LWP's (Latest Working Programs)
  • Writing programming code to meet user needs and specifications.
  • Debugging routine problems in applications programs.
  • Preparing test data and implementing tested changes.
  • Documenting all programming code and report production procedures.
  • Assisting/advising individual users in identifying and solving technical problems.
  • Responsibilities will also include financial interfaces.
  • Traveling to offsite locations when necessary to troubleshoot.
  • Train and provide technical support to end-users.
  • General system problem solving.

Required Qualifications:

  • 1-3 years clinical operations experience
  • Minimum of one year of programming experience with EAGLE 2000 software product
  • Experience with Easytrieve programming and Eagle Accu-link processing
  • Good analytical and technical skills to examine, evaluation and analyze system problems and user processes and procedures, and develop solutions
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and ability to develop good working relationships with peers, manages and users.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Medical Informatics or other related discipline preferred. 

Work Schedule:

Monday & Tuesday; 9:00am to 3:00pm

Wednesday; 9:00am to 5:00pm

Salary Grade/Rank:

SL-3

Salary Range:

Commensurate with experience and qualifications
