Job description

Hyatt seeks an enthusiastic Lead Product Engineer to join our Product Engineering department where you’ll join a team of professionals who love what they do. In this role, you will be collaborating closely with the broader engineering team where you’ll be instrumental in continuing to make Hyatt a leading hospitality company.

Looking for a Lead Product Engineer to lead our product development initiatives, as well as help drive new groundbreaking applications designed for Hyatt hotel colleagues, customers, and guests. This position is ideal for someone who is a self-starter, accountable, highly motivated, and skilled in front-end and back-end development. The lead is responsible for architecture, methodology, tools and processes, and delivery management for the development and support of customer/colleague-facing applications.


As the lead engineer of the team, you will partner with design and product leads to help build a digital culture at Hyatt. This role will also collaborate with the Operations team to build infrastructure and care for Hyatt.com and associated properties in production, as Tier 3 support. They will apply DevOps tools and culture to deliver software to production early and often, with highly automated and reliable procedures. 

 

Position Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate and partner with Product and Design leads.
  • Drive outcomes through product delivery.
  • Be accountable for engineering delivery and quality.
  • Lead a team of contractors to successful product delivery and support.
  • Provide input to products on technical strategy.
  • Analyze requirements.
  • Develop front-end software.
  • Develop back-end software.
  • Develop automated tests.
  • Develop an automated deployment process.
  • Provide Tier 3 production support.
  • Participate in architecture reviews and technology standards definition.


Qualifications

Experience:

  • 8+ years of experience in a full-time development role.
  • Experience in software engineering, microservices architecture, RDBMS, and technical operations.

 

Preferred Skills:

  • Strong Agile experience
  • Proficient in Java, React JS, next.JS, node, graphql, SpringBoot
  • Experience using AEM content management
  • Experience being an independent team leader
  • Exceptional critical thinker/problem solver
  • Cross-functional collaboration 

 

Qualifications:

B.S. preferred, in Computer Science or related discipline.
