Primary Objective

Reporting to the Director of Prevention Services, the Lead Prevention Coordinator is responsible for coordinating and implementing Rapid HIV testing targeting MSM of Color. This role involves developing outreach and testing calendars, conducting testing in various settings, and providing training on Social and Sexual Network recruitment. The coordinator will lead program collaboration with agency subcontractors, ensure HIPAA compliance and client confidentiality, and maintain patient records while adhering to professional standards and boundaries.

Essential Functions

  • Coordinating and implementing Rapid HIV testing targeting MSM of Color.
  • Developing outreach and testing calendars.
  • Conducting Rapid HIV testing in various settings.
  • Training staff and program participants in Social and Sexual Network recruitment.
  • Leading program collaboration with agency subcontractors.
  • Ensuring HIPAA compliance and client confidentiality.
  • Maintaining up-to-date patient records and data entry into the EHR system.
  • Assisting in daily program operations and general office tasks.
  • Attending necessary meetings, case conferences, and outreach activities.
  • Compiling monthly reports.
  • Conducting referrals based on assessments.
  • Coordinating all aspects of HIV testing, including transportation and scheduling.
  • Providing patient education, counseling, and interventions.
  • Organizing and filing records in a timely manner.
  • Supporting program integration into medical care.
  • Collaborating with medical providers on health priorities and care management plans.
  • Possible evening and weekend work as required.
  • Establishing and utilizing a Community Advisory Board (CAB) for program decision-making.
  • Hosting CAB meetings, including Town Hall gatherings.
  • Evaluating and facilitating advisory board structures.
  • Contributing to advisory board outcomes with value-driven insights and advice.
  • Other duties may be assigned or may be modified as business needs dictate.
  • Occasional requirement to work evenings and weekends for meetings, trainings, and conferences.
  • Periodic travel may be necessary.
  • Perform assigned duties as required.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Strong communication, documentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and office productivity software.
  • Timely problem-solving and efficient project management in a deadline-driven environment.
  • Knowledge of grant management and community resources.
  • Adherence to professional standards and boundaries.
  • Adaptability to fast-paced, changing environments and multitasking.
  • Familiarity with HIV/AIDS & STI prevention, outreach, and health promotion.
  • Experience with PLWHA, communities of color, and specialized HIV/AIDS services.
  • Competency in Microsoft software applications and social media.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, critical thinking, and organizational skills.
  • Hands-on work with limited resources, individually or in a team.
  • Dedication to the Center's mission, LGBTQ and MSM community knowledge, including the LGBTQ Ballroom community.
  • Cultural competence and creative problem-solving.
  • Team player with strong relational skills and the ability to work flexible shifts, including nights and weekends.

Education and Experience

Associate degree in public health, social services or related field OR 2+ years equivalent work experience working in the field.

Certification in HIV/AIDS & STI Prevention Counseling, Testing and Referral required.

3+ years of Rapid Testing Experience required.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: From $50,000.00 per year

Experience:

  • Rapid Testing: 3 years (Required)
  • HIV/AIDS care: 2 years (Preferred)

License/Certification:

  • Driver's License (Required)
  • HIV/AIDS & STI Prevention Counseling, Testing and Referral (Required)
