Who you are:
As the Lead Emergency Department Pharmacist for Catholic Medical Center (CMC), you will provide comprehensive pharmacy services for a fast-paced Emergency Department. You are at your best in a dynamic setting, you are autonomous, you think on your feet, and you love the intensity of the Emergency Department and being part of a cohesive interdisciplinary team.
This is a full-time, benefitted, salaried position.
The hours are Monday - Friday, 9:30 AM - 6:00 PM (no weekends or holidays)
What you'll do:
- Provide decentralized clinical pharmacy services to the Emergency Department (ED) team, comprised of Physicians, EMS and Nursing staff
- Verify medication orders for dosing, interactions, compatibility, allergies, contraindications and overall appropriateness of therapy
- Facilitate the preparation and dispensing of high-risk and/or urgent medications in accordance with NH state and federal rules and laws
- Initiate, participate and monitor medication related performance and quality in the ED
- Provide updated drug information to providers, staff, and patients
- Participate in pharmacy department performance improvement projects, including education, policy and procedure development, hospital in-service programs and committees
- Support development of new programs, services and practices in the pharmacy and ED
- Manage quality and regulatory compliance for pharmacy services in the ED
- Supervise, educate and train all pharmacists and pharmacy technicians who will provide services and support to the emergency department
- Provide didactic and experiential training to pharmacy students as part of advanced pharmacy practice experience (APPE)
What you'll bring:
Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) or BS Pharmacy with advanced training required
3 years' hospital pharmacy experience
o Critical Care or Emergency Department experience is highly preferred
o In lieu of this experience, Pharmacy Residency OR Board of Pharmacy Specialties Certification is required
BCEMP or BCCCP is highly preferred
Current New Hampshire license to practice Pharmacy required
American Heart Association BLS & ACLS Certification required
