SalaryWalk Your Doggo LLC (WYD) is looking for a reliable part-time Pet Caretaker (dog walks and drop-in pet visits) in West Lafayette/Lafayette to service clients according to times requested by the clients and scheduled by WYD.
To be successful as a Pet Caretaker, you should be able to walk dogs of various sizes and breeds. Ultimately, a top-performing WYD team member will comply with clients' special requests, and ensure that all dogs are treated with love and care.
Additional responsibilities may include the following:
Providing clean water and food as required, and wiping dogs’ paws after every walk.
Candidates should also be able to seek immediate veterinarian attention should any dog become sick or injured while under your care.
Walking multiple dogs in various weather conditions.
Conducting consultations with new clients and completing client information forms.
Regularly recording information specifying which dogs were walked, the duration of the walks, and if there were any unusual or abnormal observations pertaining to the pet’s well being.
Picking up and disposing of pet waste.
Bringing packages in for clients.
Taking all necessary precautions to ensure that the dogs and those around them are safe.
Providing regular updates to clients, which includes sharing photos, videos, and locations.
Notifying owners if dogs become sick or injured before, during, or after walks.
Salary is paid via direct deposit bi-weekly
Hours and additional information:
15 hours per week with the opportunity to grow into more
MUST be able to work 3 weekends/month and some holidays (will be compensated extra salary for holiday pay)
Position Requirements:
High school diploma or GED is required
MUST pass a thorough criminal background check
MUST pass a Pet Caretaker CPR/First Aid class, paid for by WYD
MUST be able to take ongoing online training courses periodically
MUST wear the WYD uniform daily supplied by WYD
MUST have valid driver’s license and active insurance in your name, clean driving record
Bank account for direct deposit
Knowledge of how to use the WYD app to reach clients while at jobs
Candidate must be proficient in taking film and pictures to send to WYD admin for marketing purposes daily
Proven experience working with dogs
Working knowledge of positive reinforcement training
Sound understanding of dog behavior
Available to walk dogs during peak walking times
The ability to walk for long periods of time (up to 60 minutes at a time)
Patient, punctual and reliable
Trustworthy
Passionate about pets
Must be a self starter and VERY responsible
