Lead Painters & Painter Support Staff - Automotive Industry

The Lead Painter is responsible for repairing and inspecting cars to the highest standards. This position is also responsible of supporting and training fellow painters. It reports directly to the Supervisor Body Shop.

Lead Painters: $30 - $45 per hour. Based on experience.

5-7 years automotive experience

Required

· ASE Certification B2 – Painting and Refinishing

· Extensive Volkswagen and/or Audi product knowledge

Expert knowledge in using paint mixing system.

· Expert knowledge of color tint procedures

· Expert knowledge of spray booth operation

· Water based paint experience a must

• Fact-based decision-making skills.
• OEM Automotive Industry Tool & Equipment knowledge
• Leadership and team building skills.
• Technical familiarity with Volkswagen / Audi diagnostics
• Driver license and ability to drive manual (stick-shift)

The Painter support member is responsible for preparing vehicles to paint and polish out minor scratches.

Paint Support Member: $20 - $38 per hour, based on experience.

3 years automotive experience

Required

· Technical/Paint training

· Dealership experience

· High School Diploma or GED

· Inspect and identify flaws and imperfections in painted surfaces of automobiles

· Prepare a vehicle for painting

o Cleaning

o Taping

o Sanding

· Polishing

· Notify parts department of needed parts

· Alert Leader of unusual or reoccurring faults with vehicles

· Maintain a clean and safe working environment

· Maintain a high level of attendance and performance
