Lead Music Teacher (Fall 2024)

THE ROLE

With high expectations and hard work, Ethos Classical’s Lead Music teacher bolsters our academic program by inspiring a love for music. Our Lead Music Teacher holds the primary responsibility of implementation and development of Ethos’ music program and the success of its scholars. Ethos Classical seeks a Music teacher who is committed to continuously upholding rigorous curriculum and instruction that inspires creativity and expression.

THE PERSON

As a Lead Music Teacher, you will:

• Plan and teach curriculum that inspires a love for music
• Collaborate to plan and produce content-driven special events like Multicultural Marketplace and Songwriter’s Showcase
• Use assessment data to refine curriculum and inform instructional practices
• Communicate the rationale behind why music is important for scholars today and for a lifetime
• Receive and implement routine, ongoing feedback from an outstanding leadership team and faculty
• Provide consistent rewards and consequences for behavior
• Meaningfully engage families in their child's experience in dance
• Participate in annual four-week staff training prior to school’s opening
• Do whatever it takes to achieve the mission of Ethos Classical

Prior Experience

• Full-time classroom experience in a school setting
• Experience teaching dance, either in small group or large group setting

Work Demands

• Willingness to work occasional weekend or evening work hours required.

Education

• Bachelor’s degree required.
