Saint Luke's Hospital in Kansas City has an opportunity for a Lead MRI Technologist. This position includes the following duties:

  • Education/Training of new Cardiac MRI staff  (MPIA and Hospital MRI staff)
  • Cardiac MRI technologist resource for MRI staff (This person is the expert in the field of CMR)
  • Post processing of CMR studies (including flow velocity and T1 mapping)
  • Chart/Order review
  • CMR Protocol selection for the MRI technologists performing the CMR
  • Management of the CMR Sharepoint database-this includes monthly/yearly volumes; indications; and research studies.
  • Chart entry into the nuclear database for Cardiology reads
  • Coordination of outside referrals
  • Organizes the imaging folder for outside referrals, ensures all necessary medical information is with the imaging folder prior to reading.
  • Corrects demographic and QA data in the nuclear database when needed
  • Ensures all information in the database is complete and accurate
  • Serves as a liaison between the reading room and the MRI staff
  • Retrieves information for the reading physician
  • Entering data in the database
  • Ensures 24-hour turnaround for reading of reports
  • Completes final report once the department achieves an electronic medical record
  • Processes final reports including faxing to referring physician outside the health system.
  • Communicates STAT test results to the referring provider as directed by the reading physician
  • Corrects report errors as resubmits the amended study to EPIC.
  • Attends monthly department meetings including taking meeting minutes and following up on action items
  • Creates physician call calendar for the technologist
  • Spearheads special projects as they arise (T1 mapping normal libraries, etc)
  • Liaison with Circle42 and Artery’s regarding upgrades and technical issues
  • Work with reading docs to deliver image quality feedback to technologists
  • Helps scan select inpatients and outpatients
  • Manages department productivity spreadsheet and provides reports
  • Creates physician call calendar and communicates to the technologist
  • Assists with stress cardiac MRI procedures

Applicable Experience:

Less than 1 year

American Registry of Rad. Tech. (ARRT) - American Registry of Radiologic Technologist, Basic Life Support - American Heart Association or Red Cross

Associate Degree
