Lead Mobile Application Developer (Ebce)

Summary Description:

Lyrasis is seeking a Lead Mobile Application Developer to lead a team of Mobile Application Developers in designing, developing, testing, and maintaining high-quality native mobile Palace Project applications for both iOS and Android. The successful incumbent will work closely with product managers, designers, and other cross-functional teams to deliver exceptional mobile experiences to our users. This is a remote position working with a distributed team.

Duties/Job Responsibilities:

• Technical Leadership: Lead and mentor a team of native Mobile Application Developers, providing guidance on best practices, code quality, and technical decisions.
• Mobile App Development: Design, develop, and maintain native Mobile Applications for iOS and Android platforms, ensuring optimal performance, responsiveness, and a seamless user experience.
• Architecture and Design: Collaborate with the architecture team to define and implement mobile app architecture, ensuring scalability and maintainability.
• Code Review: Conduct code reviews to ensure coding standards, security practices, and best practices are followed by the development team.
• Problem Solving: Identify and solve complex technical problems related to mobile app development and performance optimization.
• Collaboration: Work closely with product managers, designers, and other stakeholders to understand project requirements and provide technical input during the product development lifecycle.
• Testing and Quality Assurance: Implement automated testing and quality assurance processes to ensure the reliability and stability of Mobile Applications.
• Stay Current: Stay up to date with the latest industry trends, mobile development technologies, and best practices to drive innovation in mobile app development.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field or equivalent experience.
• Proven experience of 5 years as a native Mobile Application Developer, with a strong portfolio of Mobile Applications developed for iOS and Android platforms.
• Proficiency in mobile app development languages such as Objective-C, Swift (iOS) and Kotlin (Android).
• Strong technical leadership skills.
• Excellent problem-solving abilities and a passion for staying up to date with emerging technologies.
• Experience with mobile app architecture and design patterns.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and app distribution platforms (e.g., App Store, Google Play).
• Knowledge of mobile app security best practices.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, agile development environment.
• Knowledge of PDF and EPUB formats preferred but not required.
• Prior experience with Readium or other ebook platforms, and DRM a plus.
