Summary:
The Lead Janitor assumes a supervisory position, overseeing the janitorial team's activities to ensure smooth operations. In addition to performing janitorial tasks, they assign duties, deliver training, and conduct performance assessments for team members. Responsibilities also encompass managing inventory, scheduling, and ensuring adherence to safety and sanitation regulations. Acting as the main point of contact, the Lead Janitor addresses any janitorial-related issues or inquiries within the organization.
Responsibilities:
- Manages janitorial team
- Maintain cleaning inventory, placing orders for new products when needed
- Stock, maintain and organize supply closets
- Stock and maintain first-aid cabinets
- Perform monthly inspections of all fire extinguishers, eye wash stations and AED stations
- Providing monthly insect control measures
- Work with the Director of Facilities to ensure OSHA safety compliance
- Develop a plan to maximize the effectiveness of the janitorial team
- Clean the interior of buildings including floors, carpet, rugs, windows and walls
- Disinfect commonly used items like desks, door handles, office tools and phones
- Empty trash and recycling bins
- Vacuum, sweep and mop floors
- Clean and maintain restrooms
- Clean and maintain kitchen areas
- Washing and cleaning windows and mirrors
- Operate floor scrubbers and other equipment
- Dust furniture and fixtures
- Make sure all office doors and closets are locked and secured as requested
- Notify supervisors of unsafe conditions

- Ability to clean and disinfect various surfaces

- 18 years of age (minimum)
Physical Requirements:
- Possess the ability to push, pull, lift, and carry up to 50 lbs.
- Stand or walk for extended periods of time
- Communicate both in person and by telephone
