Job Description:
In the role as a Lead Investigator, you will be responsible for investigative responses to protect AT&Ts ethical integrity, culture, brand in addition to protecting critical corporate resources. The position collaborates with all levels of management, non-management and senior leadership on solutions relating to the protection of the corporation's interests while reducing liabilities and mitigating risks. The position requires data analysis, documentation of investigation process, interviewing, communications skills, and formal report writing.
Key Roles and Responsibilities:
Conducting highly complex and technical investigations requiring extensive data analysis and correlation while exercising judgement within broadly defined practices and policies in selecting investigative methods, techniques, and criterion for obtaining results.
This may include real-time response to evolving incidents, involving the internal and external investigations of events.
Responsibilities include leading discussions with business unit teams to direct investigative actions, policy development, logical and physical security measures, risk mitigation, strategic analysis to protect assets, training programs, hands-on in-depth digital forensics and analytics, critical infrastructure vulnerability assessments, business continuity, intelligence gathering, international traveler security, security product recommendation and testing, supporting various business unit initiatives, protecting the interests of our customers, employees, critical infrastructure and our vendor partners from emerging cybercrimes, cybersecurity incidents and malware threats, fraud schemes, insider threats, accounting matters, sales integrity violations, privacy breaches, data breaches, social engineering, workplace violence, criminal activities, policies and Code of Business Conduct violations.
Events requiring investigation may be both domestic and international requiring flexibility in scheduled activity.
Acts as a principal corporate resource for resolving all internal or external dispute of facts adversely impacting the corporation.
Conducts fact-based investigations which include management of multiple diverse case assignments, direct interfacing with external customers, interviews of subjects, witnesses, and victims, and engages or collaborates with all facets of law enforcement.
Will independently develop theories and leads, analysis of complex data and presentation of findings to leadership, legal and law enforcement officials.
Requires the ability to present complex technical information to a non-technical audience.
Requires 24/7 incident response to support departmental responsibilities, physical and virtual immediate response to events and travel within a geographic area in support of events.
Serves as a SME across Asset Protection functions inclusive of violations of the law and Code of Business Conduct.
Maintain working knowledge of applicable internal policies and laws associated to the areas of responsibility. Identifies risk mitigation solutions for physical and logical security measures with recommendations presented to business unit partners for implementation.
Provide testimony in court, civil and arbitration proceedings or as an expert witness to provide reports or information for the same proceedings, including the recovery of losses.
This includes federal, state, county, local and international legal proceeding environments. Access to highly confidential information is required (government issued security clearance may be required).
Job Contribution: Advanced level investigative professional.
Education: Preferred Bachelors or advanced degree in criminal justice, cybersecurity, business administration or equivalent combination of experience and education.
Experience: Typically requires 5-7 years of experience. Strong level of self-confidence with strong written and verbal communication skills preferred.
Certifications in industry preferred, but not required.
Supervisory: No.
