Lead Infrastructure Engineer - Windows, SCCM -- 51127

Pay Range - $70 - $80/hr

We have an immediate long-term opportunity with one of our prime clients for a position of Lead Infrastructure Engineer to work in San Francisco, CA on Hybrid basis.

Must Haves:

  • Experience mentoring other Admins/Engineers.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead end-to-end delivery of Client Engineering solutions, working with cross-functional engineering teams, product management, security, network operations, DevOps, external partners, testing teams etc.
  • Manage, monitor, and optimize our Client Engineering systems for performance, availability, and security.
  • Drive continuous efforts to enhance the availability, efficiency, and resiliency of our Client Engineering Systems
  • Hands-on development as and when required; code review (ensuring code quality)
  • Providing L3/L4 support for critical unresolved and escalated issues
  • Coordinate with vendor support teams to fix integration platform issues
  • With the help of developers, create detailed technical documents, prepare deployment runbook, and transfer the knowledge to production support team. Follow release process.
  • Define and enforce best practices and standards for Client Engineering monitoring, incident response, change management, and capacity planning.
  • Provide technical leadership to resolve production issues by troubleshooting in collaboration with other technical teams
  • Participate in project discovery meetings and provide technical guidance on Client Engineering requirements
  • Work on POCs to evaluate new products or solutions
  • Assimilate high-level requirements from Business and Technical Stakeholder and develop into actionable stories with required technical details
  • Lead, coach and support a team of Client Engineers (onsite and offshore) by building and fostering a high-performance engineering culture, mentoring team members and providing team with the tools and motivation to make things happen
  • Build collaborative partnerships with architects, technical leads and key individuals within other functional groups
  • Stay up to date with emerging technologies and industry trends related to Client engineering, assessing their potential impact on our systems and processes.
  • Lead incident post-mortems and root cause analysis, identifying opportunities for system enhancements and process optimizations.
  • Participate in on-call rotation supporting the enterprise (Retail, Supply Chain, and Corporate)


Experience:

  • 8-10 years as a software engineer or developer.
    • 2-3 years in leadership positions, demonstrating ability to facilitate, guide, and mentor teams.
    • 10-15 years of total experience, including at least 5 years of progressively responsible experience in software engineering with demonstrated proficiency in project management, system design, coding standards, testing, quality assurance, and other related areas.
  • Educational Background: Bachelor's or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Engineering, or Information Technology.
  • Technical Skills: Advanced or higher understanding of the following technologies:
    • Collaboration Tools: Microsoft Teams, Office, SharePoint, LucidCharts.
    • Data Management and Analysis: PowerBI, Box, SmartSheets.
    • Cloud and Security: Azure AD, Active Directory, Group Policy, IdentityNow, Okta, Secret Server, InTune.
    • OS and Application Management: Microsoft Configuration Manager, Workspace One, Avalanche, JAMF, Druva, BIT9, OS Management, Application Management (Windows/macOS/iOS/Android).
    • Automation and Scripting: RPA UIPath, PowerShell, Python.
    • Project Management: Knowledge in Project Management methodologies and tools.
  • Expertise Level: Expert in Scripting and Project Leadership.
  • Technical Skills
    • Consistently writes production-ready code that is easily testable, easily understood by other developers, and accounts for edge cases and errors. Understands when it is appropriate to leave comments, but biases towards self-documenting code.
    • Drives monitoring work based on the organization's monitoring philosophy, uses operational data for driving changes to achieve stability and performance improvements.
    • Understands how services interact and data flows. Architects services and systems using well accepted design patterns for future scaling.
    • Works with the security team to refine team's approach to security based on the organization's security strategy. Fosters a security-first mindset within the team.

    • Reviews epics and projects critically, ensures they're appropriately broken down, prioritized, and well understood by the team.
    • Ensures dependencies are noted and well understood by the team, fosters a culture of priority setting and urgency. Effectively handles risk, change, and uncertainty within the team.
    • Ensures their commitments are realistic, understands their priority and urgency, and delivers upon them accordingly. Anticipates and communicates blockers, delays, and cost ballooning within their team's projects, ensures expectations are clarified.

    • Fosters a culture of documentation and knowledge sharing within the team.
