Position Overview:
The Lead Assistant of Human Resources at Saguaro Foundation plays a critical role in supporting our mission by overseeing all aspects of human resource management. Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer, the Lead Human Resources Assitant will be responsible for developing and implementing HR strategies and initiatives that align with the organization's goals and values. This position involves supervising a team of HR assistants and collaborating closely with department heads to ensure a positive work environment and effective HR practices across the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic HR Leadership:
  • Develop and implement HR strategies and initiatives aligned with the overall mission and objectives of the Saguaro Foundation.
  • Provide strategic guidance and counsel to senior leadership on HR-related matters.
  • Employee Relations:
  • Oversee employee relations activities, including conflict resolution, disciplinary actions, and grievance procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable employment laws and regulations.
  • Talent Acquisition and Retention:
  • Lead recruitment efforts to attract and retain top talent for various positions within the organization.
  • Develop and implement strategies for employee retention and career development.
  • Training and Development:
  • Design and implement training programs to enhance the skills and knowledge of employees.
  • Facilitate professional development opportunities to support career growth and succession planning.
  • Performance Management:
  • Establish performance management processes to ensure fair and consistent evaluation of employee performance.
  • Provide guidance and support to managers in setting performance goals and conducting performance reviews.
  • Benefits Administration:
  • Manage employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and other fringe benefits.
  • Stay informed about industry trends and best practices in benefits administration.
  • Community Outreach:
  • Represent the organization in community outreach activities, including job fairs, networking events, and partnerships with educational institutions.
  • Promote the Saguaro Foundation as an employer of choice within the community.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Strong knowledge of employment laws and regulations.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement HR strategies that support organizational goals.
  • Experience supervising and mentoring a team of HR professionals.
  • SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP certification preferred.
