POSITION SUMMARY
The Health Fitness Specialist Lead, plans, develops, implements, and evaluates group exercise classes.
Work with individuals or groups to help improve client/patient fitness levels or rehabilitate from surgery or injuries. Provides personal performance, health coaching programs and leads safe and effective group fitness classes. Responsible for developing customized exercise plans and providing personalized instruction to Wellspring clients to contribute to health, fitness and wellness goals. Promotes health and fitness in the Wellspring Fitness Center, all while providing a high level of customer service.
POSITION TECHNICAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead Responsibilities :
- Assists with plan, design, delivery, and evaluation of all aspects of Wellspring group exercise class program. Serves as the primary contact for all group exercise programming, including class coverage, department coverage and facilitates substitute instructor procedure.
- Initiates quality improvement through workflow, operations, and systems administration.
- Organize and coordinates workflow and reporting in compliance with Veterans Affair.
- Maintain the electronic check in, scheduling and registration system. Builds new programs and services in the system as needed.
- Seeks out and implements innovation and new, more efficient ways to use technology to support our services.
- Serve as a technical liaison for the membership management software and processes, ensuring that all system changes are coordinated with workflow changes as appropriate.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Education:
- Certified by a nationally recognized fitness certification organization such as the National Council on Strength and Fitness (NCSF); National Aerobics & Fitness Trainers Association (NAFTA); or the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM)in addition to certifications in CPR/AED, and specialized group fitness.
Experience:
- Required: One year of experience in group exercise class programming and membership coordination. Experience as a Personal Trainer and/or one-year experience in direct education and/or coaching with individuals for disease prevention, health promotion, and behavior change.
