By joining our team in Renewables you will have the opportunity to:

  • Provide technical expertise to lead and perform complex analyses of scientific data and technical materials for the purpose of determining impacts of offshore wind project development on biological resources and aquatic habitats.  
  • Evaluate the effects of onshore, nearshore, and offshore development activities on various fish species, marine mammals, and aquatic habitats. 
  • Work with the Renewables Americas Permitting and Environmental Affairs teams to coordinate the review of required permitting and environmental impact submissions e.g., EFH and MMPA documentation.  
  • Advise and develop recommendations for projects to avoid, reduce and restore habitats and populations in line with the mitigation hierarchy and Equinor’s environmental management system.     
  • Lead specific technical scopes required pre-, during and post-construction e.g., fish compensation economic analyses, Federal survey mitigation measures, regional research project coordination, and multi-year benthic and fish monitoring programs.  
  • Contribute to or serve on a variety of international, national, regional, or local science or management bodies, including regional Fishery Management Councils, Fishery Technical Working Groups, industry associations, etc. to provide expertise and to share program research plans and results.  
  • Serve as a primary technical expert for a variety of communities, government representatives, non-governmental organizations, and academia on fisheries or water resource management.   
  • Provide oversight over one or more phases of research work in facilitation of primary duties, including: determining research methodologies, planning and conducting experiments; collecting, analyzing and interpreting data; drawing conclusions, making recommendations.

  • A graduate degree in a field of environmental engineering/science/studies, natural resources, biology, ecology, or related field from an accredited program. 
  • 5+ years of relevant work experience with a preference for candidates that have prior experience in the offshore energy sector.  
  • Familiarity with federal permitting agencies including experience working with BOEM, NOAA NMFS, USFWS is preferred. 
  • Experience with various state and local environmental regulations, particularly those applicable to the states of New EnglandNew York, mid-Atlantic states, and/or California is considered an asset.  
  • Experience working with technical teams (e.g., engineering, construction, operations) involved in large projects desired. 
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills, including a demonstrated ability to effectively communicate to diverse audiences and stakeholders. 
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and attention to detail. 
  • Ability to work under pressure and within tight deadlines. 
  • Able to adapt and work in a fast-paced working environment and responsive to change.  
  • Salary range $116,285 to $174,480
