Lead Equipment Operator

The Equipment Operator Lead prepares,drives or controls construction equipment, including bulldozers, forklifts, backhoes, dump trucks, cargo trucks, and loader. They operate this equipment to assist in the Excavation for Plumbing projects.

The position is based out of our Korte Does It All office at 10920 Stellhorn Rd. New Haven, IN 46774.

Responsibilities:

• Equipment operators must perform detailed quality checks to ensure that it meets all standards and requirements. They must document work and results and keep records of labor and materials used.
• Knowledge and experience in using a variety of tools and machinery.
• Maintains tools and machinery in good condition and uses all tools carefully and as instructed.
• Submit all paperwork in an accurate and timely manner.
• Both verbal and written communication skills are imperative to be successful.
• Must follow all safety policies and procedures to prevent personal injury and/or property damage.
• Use machines to dig and lift sand, gravel, or earth.
• Arrive at each job early or on time fully prepared.
• Communicate regularly with customers, sales consultant, and dispatch about job progress or any issues that arise.
• Adept in using a variety of tools necessary to complete each job.
• Oversee the safety and efficiency of any crew assisting on the job.
• Perform each job with minimal disturbances of customers’ property and comfort.
• Keep assigned service vehicle organized, clean, and stocked properly.
• Possess a good driving record and hold a valid Motor Vehicle Operator’s license.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Skills/Qualifications:

• Ability to operate different tools, and to troubleshoot equipment problems.
• Good interpersonal and teamwork skills.
• Must coordinate movements of your hands and feet in order to guide very large machinery in tight places.
• Must be able to read gauges, dials, and other indicators, and adjust them as necessary.
• Ability to continue ongoing training to further trade knowledge.
• Ability to master basic math skills.
• Possess effective problem-solving abilities, and constant adaptability to changes in work environments.
• Ability to handle a large volume of work in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to think logically and follow instruction while working with hands in mechanically oriented situations.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Ability to bend and lift 50lbs without restrictions.
• Ability to independently operate a vehicle
• Maintain a good driving record.
