The Opportunity
The Lead Digital/Paid Media Strategy Manager - Banking & Deposits function is responsible for enabling or executing best-in-class digital Media Strategy integrating paid social, programmatic, and paid search. Knowledge of the digital media landscape is imperative; the team will be the point of contact for business partners regarding media channels and performance. Responsible for keeping internal leadership and Media teams informed about best practices for Media Strategy and planning. Ability to influence stakeholders across USAA and our agency partners to ensure the quality of USAA's cross-channel marketing strategies throughout the campaign lifecycle.
We offer a flexible work environment that requires an individual to be in the office 4 days per week. This position can be based in one of the following locations: San Antonio, TX, Plano, TX , Charlotte, NC.

What you'll do:
  • Creates or utilizes USAA developed guidelines and strategic frameworks enabling the development and execution of highly complex, multi-channel digital media strategies, working across paid social, programmatic, and paid search to ensure marketing strategies are integrated.
  • Lead, interpret and translate business intelligence and client strategic objectives into media planning parameters prior to briefing USAA's agency partners or other internal business teams.
  • Understand and refine the parameters for developing media strategies across channels with internal Media teams.
  • Socialize digital media best practices and operational recommendations (i.e., helps teams to structure rationale for programmatic Media Strategy and how it meets business objectives and adheres to activation best practices).
  • Ensure all cross-channel media plans are implemented according to best practice and in a timely manner through USAA's agency partnership.
  • Serve as the primary resources for cross functional team members on all aspects of digital Media Strategy and planning, marketing objectives, optimization, and campaign performance.
  • Understands and may own complex budget plans.
  • Mentors' others to ensure media teams are effectively communicating, collaborating, and working with agencies and/or internal partners such as analytics.
  • Synthesize and provide insights from USAA's partners integrating foundational platform knowledge and capabilities into Media Strategy and campaign optimization.
  • Responsible for applying analytics and measurement tools/techniques as part of cross-channel Media Strategy and planning.
  • Leverage data insights to drive incremental growth and achieve business goals.
  • Ensures risks associated with business activities are effectively identified, measured, monitored, and controlled in accordance with risk and compliance policies and procedures.

What you have:
  • Bachelor of Business Administration or 4 additional years of related experience beyond the minimum required may be substituted in lieu of a degree.
  • 8 years of relevant work experience with hands-on experience in Media Strategy.
  • Experience transforming business and product objectives into paid media strategies encompassing tasks such as audience analysis, media partner selection, media channel allocation, flighting schedules, budget distribution and other pertinent components of the Media Strategy.
  • Experience in leading digital Media Strategy and/or activation teams at a premier advertising/digital agency and/or brands with in-house digital media capabilities.
  • Track record of translating and scaling digital media thought leadership into day-to-day practices employed by media planning and buying teams.
  • Expert knowledge of digital advertising channels and technologies, including ad buying platforms, data platforms, ad verification/brand safety tools, measurement solutions, etc.
  • Expert knowledge of programmatic advertising channels across video, audio, DOOH, display, and native using various buying methodologies (CPM, CPC, CPA).
  • Experience managing all self-serve programmatic channels (display, video, DOOH, audio, native) and launching new channels.

What sets you apart:
  • Minimum 5 years of experience working in banking/financial marketing or media agency with a focus on banking or deposits products.
  • 3 years of experience with insights and research tools including but not limited to (MRI Simmons, Mintel, ComScore, Kantar, Pathmatics, SimilarWeb)
  • Must have experience with media planning across programmatic display, remarketing, paid search, paid social media, online video, CTV, DOOH/OOH
  • Prior management and planning of paid media budgets of at least $20M, including budget planning, tracking actuals, and addressing over/ underspend.
  • Proven experience identifying, negotiating with, and signing up direct publishers for media buys.
  • Working knowledge of Bank Laws and regulations; UDAAP, Reg Z, Reg V, F&RL

Compensation:
Compensation: USAA has an effective process for assessing market data and establishing ranges to ensure we remain competitive. You are paid within the salary range based on your experience and market data of the position. The actual salary for this role may vary by location. The salary range for this position is: $104,660 - $199,970
Employees may be eligible for pay incentives based on overall corporate and individual performance and at the discretion of the USAA Board of Directors.
