The Lead Data Governance Specialist will be responsible to advise and assist teams in the development of an effective Business Glossary. He/She will ensure that business and technical users, spanning across all experience levels, can easily find accurate, up-to-date, meaningful information and definitions of data-related terminology in order to provide users with confidence in the accuracy and relevancy of the required data.
The Lead Data Governance Specialist will be responsible to promote Data Quality throughout the organization through advising teams on identification and selection of Critical Data Elements. He/she will provide awareness and training on establishing of effective business rules for data. He/She shall take an active part in working with teams to increase Data Quality through monitoring of rules compliance, resolution of incidents and trend analysis.
The Lead Data Governance Specialist will take an advisory role in the identification and evaluation of current and newly evolving tool suites, to drive continual efficiencies into our Data Governance Program. This will include all aspects of data and metadata management, data flow / lineage and process improvement / automation.
The Lead Data Governance Specialist will take an active role in the development and tracking of KPIs and Metrics to understand baselines and work to increase effectiveness, program maturity and measurable positive impact of the program, across the organization.
As a Subject Matter Expert of Data Governance, the Lead Data Governance Specialist will be expected to actively contribute to the success of Digital Transformation projects and initiatives at Cable One.

What you will do to contribute to the company's success
1. Ensures effective development, review, maintenance, communication, distribution, and training of effective Data Governance Policies, Procedures and Standards across the company.
2. Utilizes extensive Data Governance experience and knowledge to serve as a trusted Subject Matter Expert for all aspects of Data Governance to all levels of leadership across Cable One.
3. Proactively identifies Data Governance use cases and partners with Leadership to enable solutions which accurately meet present and future business Data Governance needs.
4. Utilizes extensive understanding of how Data Governance aligns to and supports Cyber Security Management to advise Technical, Business and Leadership Teams on steps to take to improve Data Security.
5. Responsible for the design and oversight of Data Stewardship Program across the organization. 6. Applies expertise in risk management, data management, business/finance, along with Technology to oversee the creation and maintenance of the Business Catalog and the Data Glossary.
7. Establishes and maintains the framework and roadmap for Data Governance.
8. Designs and Develops KPIs and Metrics to demonstrate Data Governance effectiveness, program maturity and measure positive impact of the program.
9. Takes an Active Role in Designing, Developing and Delivering Data Governance Awareness and Training initiatives.
10. Advises and Assists Business Teams on the identification and documentation of Critical Data Elements.
11. Advises and Assists Business Teams to establish effective business rules to increase Data Quality throughout the organization.
12. Remains current on industry tool suites and best practices to evaluate tools and processes to promote the effectiveness and maturity of our Data Governance Program.
13. Utilizes extensive experience and understanding of Data Governance to provide guidance and actively support Digital Transformation Initiatives throughout the organization.
14. Provides expert-level advice and support to Data Governance Manager to build a culture Data Governance at Cable One.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 9 years' experience in a major services organization, with demonstrated extensive, multi-faceted understanding of Data Governance.
  • Solid understanding of how departments, such as Project Management, Cyber Security, Technology, Business Reporting, etc., contribute to the operation and success of a Data Governance Program.
  • Strong ability to understand the 'big picture' and advise teams on options to improve their data management and Data Governance practices and capabilities.
  • Outstanding ability to Collaborate and Partner with diverse internal and external teams to support activities and drive maturity into the Data Governance program.
  • The ability to track, analyze and develop reports for metrics and KPIs; Demonstrated flexibility to adapt quickly and efficiently to changing business and team priorities; Superb oral and written communication skills.
  • Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) Or equivalent from Four-year college or technical school. Proven work experience can be considered in lieu of a bachelor's degree; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Professional certification(s) in any relevant discipline(s) such as Data Management, Data Governance, Compliance, Accounting & Finance, Audit, etc.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with Azure, Data Management, Analysis and Reporting, Power BI, Experience leading a project to evaluate, recommend and implement an online tool; Experience designing and delivering department-level training.
