W International is a world class metal fabricator located in Goose Creek, SC, specializing in complex critical weldments for the defense, aerospace and commercial markets. Successful candidate will oversee the design, layout, testing and evaluation of mechanical and electro-mechanical devices or systems.

Responsibilities of the Position:
- Responsible for the safe operation of furnished lifting equipment, mobiles cranes, transport and other mobile equipment.
- Ensures all crane and rigging gear records are properly maintained.
- Schedules and updates monthly all crane and rigging gear re-certifications.
- Assist in training and mentors a team of rigging professional. Facilitates training of shop personnel.
- Capable of setting up tasks of varying complexities from verbal/written directions and drawings.
- Performs assigned tasks in a highly skilled manner in accordance with established standards.
- Exercises independent judgment in determining that employees use proper work methods and safe practices in accordance with guidelines.
- Prepares and/or maintains reports and records related to the work assignments.
- Works with other semi-skilled and skilled crafts persons and coordinates with members of other activities to insure quality and timely accomplishment of assigned duties.
- Provides guidance, orientation and training to newly assigned and lower skilled employees.
- Performs specific tasks in accordance with verbal and/or written instructions and observes safety, fire, health, and work rules.
- Operates personal computer and utilizes software programs, spreadsheets and databases, fax machine, and other general office equipment.
- Physical Activities: Work may require standing, walking; heavy lifting (up to 50lbs) or prolonged sitting.
- Employee must comply with all Federal, State and Local regulations and published Company work rules as well as written instructions.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Must be a US Citizen
- Must have High School Diploma or GED
- Minimum of ten years of experience in the weight-handling field as a licensed crane operator, rigger, crane mechanic, or weight handling program supervisor; provide certificates from accredited training institutions that verify completion of training in these fields.
- Must have a working knowledge of computer systems such as Microsoft Excel and E2 or similar ERP system software.
- Must have experience performing critical lifts.
- NCCER Certified Rigger and Signal Person
- Current credential from NCCOCO: NCCOCO Certified Rigger
- Six (6) years of supervisory experience.
- Must have the ability to conduct training classes and is competent in rigging gear inspections and certifications.
- Must provide a record of qualifications. (The selected candidate will be required to obtain current qualifications as a rigging inspector.)
- Working knowledge of operation of lattice boom cranes.
