J-U-B ENGINEERS, Inc. (J-U-B) is hiring a Lead Construction Observerto work as a key part of the construction team in our Meridian, ID office. The main responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
· Observes all phases of contractor work, procedures, and progress to verify general conformance with plans, specifications, and standards.
· Observes construction of multi-disciplinary municipal/public and private projects, including water, wastewater, stormwater, irrigation, airports, roadways, structural, bridges, and earthwork.
· Coordinates with third-party, independent testing laboratories performing tests on a variety of materials.
· Monitors quality control/assurance by reviewing testing reports.
· Computes, reviews, and verifies pay quantities, computations, and materials.
· Reviews and prepares project construction diaries, photographs, testing data, reports, and summaries for project correspondence.
· Coordinates construction activities with utility companies, cities, counties, state agencies, property owners and contractors.
· If skill sets are present, additional duties may include CAD design or drafting or surveying field assistance and/or office work.
Requirements:· A minimum of 5 - 10 years of Construction Observation experience and/or experience in the construction industry is preferred.
· Western Alliance for Quality Transportation Construction (WAQTC) certification highly preferred.
· Idaho Transportation Department's Inspector Qualification Program (IQP) certifications preferred or obtained upon hiring.
· ICC certification preferred but not required.
· CAD design and/or survey technician experience is not required but will be a benefit to the applicant.
· Experience with the administration of federally funded projects beneficial.
· Proven consensus building skills.
· Proven ability to self-direct and to work collaboratively with others.
· Willingness to work out of town as project location dictates.
Pay Range: $27 - $39 per hour/determined by experience.
