A Brief Overview
The Lead Outreach Nurse Educator is a professional Registered Nurse or Advanced Practice Provider with an in-depth scientific knowledge, technical expertise, skill and competency that serves as a business partner and resource in the community and the internal healthcare clinical setting, and supports clinical development and training initiatives. This position participates in the development and facilitation of Outreach Education and actively collaborates with community partners for delivery of educational opportunities. Acts as a change agent by suggesting new or innovative approaches based on evidence-based practices that result in improvements in quality outcomes.
Education Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree Bachelors of Science in Nursing (BSN). Required
  • Master's Degree Nursing or Nursing Education. Preferred

Experience Qualifications
  • 5 years Experience working in clinical setting. Required
  • Experience in multiple clinical disciplines and settings. Required
  • Experience teaching, precepting, or mentoring clinical personnel. Required
  • Experience developing and delivering training. Required

Skills and Abilities
  • Strong project management and analytical skills with proven ability to manage multiple priorities while delivering high quality results. (Required proficiency)
  • Ability to utilize Microsoft Office applications, including PowerPoint. (Required proficiency)
  • Skills in communication, classroom management, and differentiation of instruction. (Required proficiency)

Licenses and Certifications
  • Registered Nurse - KSBN A multistate license with the ability to practice within the State of Kansas is also accepted. Required
  • Certified Nurse Educator - NLN - Magnet Preferred
  • CTE Teaching Certificate is preferred.

What you will do
  • Oversees Stormont Vail's Educational Outreach Programs, including the TCALC Healthcare Career Pathway. Coordinates with community partners and regulatory bodies to ensure delivery of education resulting in a valued credential.
  • Works within an interdisciplinary team while developing, planning, and presenting educational activities within areas of expertise. Directly or indirectly fosters the development of competence in the learner. Identifies follow up needs of the participants while tracking the learner's outcomes within the lines of evidence-based practice.
  • Develops, implements, facilitates, and debriefs educational experiences to meet specific curricular objectives and educational criteria related to regulatory and accreditation requirements, as well as evaluating the program itself.
  • Acts as a change agent, proposing innovative solutions to problems around workforce pipeline and strength of the community's healthcare workforce.
  • Supports development and management of team budgets.
  • As an extension of Stormont Vail leadership, provides support and direction to team members as a role model.
  • Promotes critical thinking among students, and shows commitment to professional development and lifelong learning.
  • Works collaboratively with leadership, hiring managers and subject matter experts to understand desired performance, assess learning needs, and develop appropriate training solutions.
  • Manages multiple projects concurrently, maintaining details and meeting deadlines.
  • Maintains current knowledge of trends in area of expertise.
  • Advocates for education and development programs that support the needs of the learner and the organization.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule as required by meeting/event needs. This may include an occasional early morning, evening and weekend. Limited travel to SVH locations.
