What You Will Be Doing
Working as a full time Lead Client Access Specialist you will be responsible for serving as the team lead during the Client Access Supervisor's absence, acting as the liaison between the front and back end of the revenue cycle to assist the Reimbursement Manager with developing and maintaining front end processes that ensure uniform practice and support billing. You will provide guidance to Client Access Specialists on proper insurance verification techniques. You will coordinate with the Client Access Supervisor to maintain staff scheduling, maintaining appropriate staff coverage and will be responsible to find and/or provide coverage for 2nd and 3rd shifts, weekends, and holidays when necessary to ensure staffing during the various hours the clinic will be open. You will also be responsible for reviewing sliding fee scale forms to ensure proper completion, including proof of income as well as other CAS tasks and responsibilities.
What We Require
A Client Access Specialist (CAS) is required to have a High School diploma, or GED, and two years' experience in patient/client registration; superior customer service; Ability to recognize and prioritize urgent or emergent care needs; ability to work variable shifts including evenings; rotate to different ISK clinics; Excellent communication skills, interpersonal and human relation skills; and Advanced computer skills including accessing various insurance websites, word processing, spreadsheets, and e-mail.

Physical Requirements/Working Conditions:
Physical Efforts - Job demands include prolonged sitting and standing as appropriate. May occasionally require light lifting up to 25 pounds, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or bending as appropriate. Requires coordination of hands and/or eye/hand/foot.
Working Conditions - Office environment with noise from computers, copy machine, and telephones. Use of computer screen for periods in excess of 30 minutes at a time. Possible eyestrain from extended periods of viewing computer screen. May be exposed to bloodborne pathogens, infectious diseases, and parasites. Travel throughout the Kalamazoo area is required.
