As such, Housewrights is always keen to meet talented residential design-build professionals interested in joining their team and are now actively seeking a Lead Carpenter who is an Interior Trim Specialist. The ideal candidate will have demonstrable experience working on all aspects of remodeling and new home construction projects. Candidates should hold themselves to high-performance standards and enjoy being challenged to improve within the context of a supportive work environment.
To receive consideration candidates need to be knowledgeable about and productively able to perform all labor and carpentry functions associated with residential construction and remodeling. They need to be willing and able to occasionally perform demolition and general labor in addition to being highly proficient at all aspects of framing, exterior trim & finish and Interior Trim & finish carpentry.
This is a site-based, bags-on position with opportunities for supervisory responsibilities for those who are proficient. Housewrights Lead Carpenters collaborate with Project Managers to ensure their project's success.
Examples of both productivity and quality are required.
Candidate should be willing and physically capable of performing residential carpentry tasks at residential heights ( 35') and in our upper Midwest climate (within reason).
Candidate should be a proficient problem solver and prefer variety in their work assignments.
Candidate needs to be highly self-motivated and capable of working both independently and as a member of a team.
Candidate should be capable of cheerfully persisting through the challenging workflow often accompanying the remodeling process.
A high commitment to quality and customer service is required.
Previous supervisory/training/mentoring experience is
required as is specific evidence of ability to manage a project site (materials, subs, safety, quality) and coordinate with office/sales/design staff.
Working familiarity with the allied trades is required.
Working knowledge of the Wisconsin UDC is required.
Comfort with basic communication technologies (mobile, email, etc) is required.
Strong written and verbal communication abilities are required.
This is not an entry-level position. The previously self-employed have great success in this role.
Understanding and experience with building science/green building concepts is valuable.
Pay: initial earning potential expected to fall within $50k - $64k but is not limited to such. Current scale $45k - $82k
Education: HS/GED + post-high school degree (in any field of study) is preferred.
