Lead cross functional teams to strategize, plan, and execute a variety of programs, services and initiatives. Drive accountability for assigned initiatives, limit risk exposure, and create efficiencies as appropriate. Review strategic approaches and effectiveness of support function and business performance. Perform assessments through fact finding and data requiring creative approaches to solving complex issues, and develop appropriate solutions or recommendations. Make decisions in highly complex and multifaceted situations requiring solid understanding of business group's functional area or products, facilitate decision making and issue resolution, and support implementation of developed solutions and plans. Collaborate and consult with members of the Business Execution team and team leaders to drive strategic initiatives. Influence, guide and lead less experienced Strategy and Execution staff within the group. Required Qualifications: 5+ years of Management Consulting, Strategy Consulting, or Business Operations experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, or education.
Project Background:
CIB’s Market Conduct Risk and Supervision Program requires business analyst support to help design and develop front line supervision controls; including building out written supervisory procedures, best execution controls, trader mandate controls, and conflicts of interests controls.
Ideal candidates will have an in-depth understanding of key financial markets risks and controls, excellent communication skills, detail-oriented, ability to multi-task, and self-driven.
Scope of Work:
We are seeking a self-driven, Global Markets focused business analyst to help design and develop front line supervision controls as part of CIB’s Market Conduct Risk and Supervision Program. Main responsibilities include designing controls, documenting procedures and controls, prototyping solutions to mitigate key business risks. The individual will be responsible for working with a variety of stakeholders to source, map, and analyze controls in support of business owned controls. In addition, the candidate will be required to update basic project plans to track and provide status updates on progress.
Qualifications/Experience:
• Five to Ten years’ experience as a business analyst in a financial services environment; Compliance/Surveillance experience preferred
• Working knowledge of governance frameworks including Risk Management Framework concepts and policies across risk types
• Candidate will evidence strong knowledge of Capital Markets data flows, products, and trade lifecycle(s)
• Experience in data acquisition, data mapping, data analytics
• Ability to lead control design, analysis and business requirements gathering independently
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Excellent Critical thinking skills to help solve business problems
• Experience in financial services regulatory control design, development and implementation
• Ability to use data analytics tooling (e.g., Microsoft Excel, SQL, etc.) to create pivot tables, charts, and graphs to support prototyping
• General experience within a regulated financial services supervisory control environment
