We are looking for a Lead Bookkeeper to play a key role in our growing CPA firm. You’ll be responsible for handling all the bookkeeping, payroll, sales tax, business management (i.e. A/R and A/P) and other ongoing work for our business clients in QuickBooks Online. This is primarily an in-office position with light hybrid work permitted.
Compensation:$50,000 - $65,000 yearly
Responsibilities:- Consistently input daily financial transactions and finalize the posting process
- Oversee payroll so employees are paid accurately and in a timely manner
- Prepare all financial statements and bank reconciliations
- Bookkeeping: Enter data, maintain records and produce financial reports
- Verify accuracy within day books and all ledgers
- 5+ years of work experience at an accounting or bookkeeping firm as a bookkeeper, accountant, or similar position
- Strong current knowledge of QuickBooks Online (QBO ProAdvisor Preferred) and Excel
- Experience with payroll systems (i.e. Gusto and ADP) preferred
- Experience with sales tax calculations and filings preferred
- Excellent time management, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Strong understanding of GAAP accounting, making journal entries, completing reconciliations, and trial balances
- Experience with business management (A/R, A/P, bill pay) preferred
- Ability to spot errors with new client books and perform cleanup/back work as necessary
- Ability to work closely with in-house CPA at tax time for tax return prep
