The Big Data Engineer will be responsible for interpreting the requirements of various Big Data Analytic Use Cases and Scenarios and driving the design and implementation of specific data models to ultimately help drive better business decisions through insights from a combination of external and AT&Ts data assets.

What You’ll Do:

• Design, build, and present on-prem to Data transformation solutions, systems, and applications to address customer needs. This will be tailored to projects related to the Telecommunications industry with specific functional components like:

• Billing, sales, finance, network, inventory, customer profiling, marketing, etc.

• Understand business challenges and architecting Data Engineering solutions. 

• Leverage expertise in Databricks and Snowflake’s Data Cloud and the latest advancements in data migration and customized solutions to build POCs and prototypes that demonstrate value to clients.

• Understanding of LLMs such as GPT including their architecture, implementation, and applications.

• Stay updated on the latest advancements in data platform technologies and all the rapidly evolving Data Native Apps capabilities, and identify opportunities to incorporate them into Chief Data Office (CDO) customer solutions.

• Develop technical presentations and conduct workshops and hackathons to share expertise on Data engineering best practices.

Qualifications:

• Preferred Bachelors of Science in Computer Science, Math or Scientific Computing preferred.

• 5-8 years of related experience.

• 3-5+ years of Databricks development experience in Data Engineering , Data Architecture, building, and demonstrating data solutions.

• 3-5+ years of experience in the telecommunications industry related to reporting and data integration.

• Experience integrating Databricks and Snowflake solutions with the major cloud platforms and leveraging their pre-built capabilities.

• 3-5+ Years of experience with Databricks, Snowflake, Azure cloud, reference architectures and building Proof of concepts.

• 3-5+ years of expertise in building robust Data Engineering frameworks, Azure cloud, python/JAVA/Scala, and Data bricks (Spark).

• Knowledge of Databricks Data engineering best practices around data modelling, evaluation, deployment, and governance.

• Knowledge and understanding of Large language models and their implementation in specific use case driven efforts.

• Experience working with Data engineers, Architects, and operation engineers.

• Ability to identify and articulate the business value of data powered technologies to stakeholders.

• Strong communication, presentation, and storytelling skills to influence leadership with business decision-makers.

• Passion for data and ability to stay updated on latest advancements through conferences, publications, cohorts etc.

• Requires Daily Office Presence (3-5 days a week) at the listed location(s). No relocation assistance is provided.

Our Lead Big Data Engineering earns between $128,400.00-$192,600.00 USD Annual, Not to mention all the other amazing rewards that working at AT&T offers. Individual starting salary within this range may depend on geography, experience, expertise, and education/training.
