Job description

This company is a startup focused on hypersonic aircraft development and revolutionizing air travel. is looking for a Senior Avionics Electrical Engineer to join the Avionics Team to help achieve commercial hypersonic flight. The company is collaborating with government organizations such as the US Air Force and NASA to develop a series of unmanned aircraft that mitigate risk and address critical national security issues. These autonomous planes provide vital data and assurance required for the certification, production, operation, and maintenance of safe and comfortable commercial aircraft.

They are looking for a Lead Avionics Electrical Engineer to join the Avionics Team to help achieve commercial hypersonic flight. The candidate will have 5+ years of experience with schematic design, PCB layout, power electronics, and wiring diagrams.

Requirements

Core responsibilities

  • Design, test, and integration of GNC, software, electrical hardware, and RF-communications.
  • Motivated to take on big technical and collaborative challenges.
  • Electrical design and testing for custom electrical systems for ground test and aircraft systems.
  • Advanced electrical design experience, including embedded system design, PCB layout, integration experience, and product qualification.

Required
  • B.S. in Electrical Engineering
  • 5+ years of experience with schematic design, PCB layout, power electronics, and/or wiring diagram
  • Expert circuit troubleshooting skills
  • Experience designing analog, high-speed digital, and/or RF
  • ITAR REQUIREMENTS: To conform to U.S. Government space technology export regulations, including the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) you must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.

Ideal candidate
  • M.S. in Electrical Engineering
  • Full stack expertise including the flight simulator, control room, ground support station, and full aircraft avionics suite.
  • Experience with sensor/actuator integration
  • Experience with simulation tools (LTSpice, HFSS, ADS)
