Job Details:
A Lead Analyst plays an important role throughout the systems development lifecycle and solution implementation across each project. The primary role of a Lead Analyst is eliciting, analyzing and documenting customer needs into well-organized business requirements necessary for delivering technology solutions that meet customer needs, expected delivery dates, and exceptional quality standards. This may include waterfall and agile methodologies.
The role of the Lead Analyst will be to closely align with business stakeholders to elicit analyze and document customer needs into well-organized business requirements that technical individuals can comprehend. As well this position will be required to participate in resolving support related concerns while enhancing productivity quality and customer service standards. Further responsibilities will include developing and maintaining a professional and technical knowledge of the area assigned including a consistent focus on emerging and predominant technologies that enable the assigned area.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Requirements Management
    • Effective eliciting, analyzing, simplifying, organizing and documenting business requirements
    • Model as-is and to-be business processes spanning a variety of process areas such as sales, transportation, warehousing, manufacturing, procurement, etc.
    • Review and provide guidance/feedback to more junior analysts within the same team/area
    • Contribute to the requirements management principles and approach within the team
  • Solution Development
    • Develop functional/design specifications to provide necessary details for customized software development

  • Application Quality Assurance
    • Development and execution of unit, system and integration test cases
    • Development of test plans for a given sprint or release

  • End User Engagement
    • Partnership with other team members in development and delivery of training materials for end users
    • Development of strong business relationships by demonstrating an expertise of related processes, requirements, systems and terminology

  • Application Support
    • Customer engagements via incident management tickets, direct call and face to face troubleshooting when required
    • Maintain documentation of support activities and resolution in Incident Management System
    • Inclusion in on-call rotation a possibility

  • Project Management
    • Develop work breakdown structures
    • Estimate effort and duration for medium/large projects
    • Develop project plan/schedules and execute project management activities to ensure successful delivery of overall project

Requirements:
Education: Requires a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Information Systems or an equivalent degree with experience equating to a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Information Systems.
Experience: 6+ years industry experience required
Computer Skills:
  • Advanced general computer skills required. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office applications, strong knowledge of JIRA, Agile methodologies, and requirements documentation
  • Advanced knowledge Microsoft Office Suite, including Visio and Project required
  • SAP HANA experience preferred

CommunicationSkills:
  • Ability to effectively communicate both written and verbally with customers, peers, and management required
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills required
  • Must be able to work cooperatively and effectively in a team environment

SpecialSkills:
  • Advanced troubleshooting skills
  • Working knowledge of common business processes (procurement, sales, Operations, manufacturing, logistics, etc.) preferred
  • Ability to lead and mentor junior team members through requirements gathering, business process mapping, and system analysis
  • Proven experience leading large projects
  • PMP Certification preferred

* 5% travel per year might be needed.
