Learning Disabilities Teacher Consultant (LDTC)
Location: Plainfield, NJ
Job Type: Full-time, School Year Contract Opportunity
Pay: $45/Hour

As an LDTC at Spindle, you will play a crucial role in identifying, assessing, and supporting students with learning disabilities. You will collaborate with educators, parents, and other professionals to develop and implement effective strategies and accommodations to address the unique needs of students with learning challenges. The LDTC will work closely with the special education team to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment for all students.
Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments to identify students with learning disabilities and provide recommendations for appropriate interventions.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for students with learning disabilities.
  • Provide ongoing support and professional development to classroom teachers to help them address the diverse learning needs of their students.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of interventions and accommodations, adjusting strategies as needed to ensure student success.
  • Serve as a resource for teachers and staff on best practices for supporting students with learning disabilities in the classroom.
  • Stay current on research and best practices in the field of learning disabilities and share this knowledge with the educational community.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of assessments, interventions, and progress monitoring for students with learning disabilities.
  • Collaborate with the special education team and other professionals to create a cohesive and supportive educational environment for all students.


Qualifications:

  • Valid New Jersey LDTC certification.
  • Master's degree in Special Education or a related field.
  • Previous experience working with students with learning disabilities.
  • Strong knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and best practices in special education.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with students, parents, teachers, and other professionals.
  • Dedication to creating an inclusive and supportive learning environment for all students.
