Job Description
L&D Travel RN
- Monitor patient throughout (before/during/after) the labor
- Provide information, guidance and hands-on clinical care to expectant parents.
- Monitor fetal heartbeat and length and strength of contractions during labor.
- Administer medications and treatments as ordered to assigned patients.
- Provide guidance to new parents on all aspects of recovery and infant care.
- If necessary, respond to a medical emergency and alert appropriate team members.
- Flexibility to travel to the assignment location.
- Availability to work the facility’s required schedule.
- Willingness to complete onboarding items in a timely manner.
- Ability to quickly adapt to new environments and strive for the highest quality of patient care.
- Also referred to as: Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse, obstetrical nurse, OB nurse.
Job Requirements
- 1+ year of experience as a L&D nurse
- Graduate from an accredited nursing school
- Current state specific RN license in good standing, or if applicable, a compact state RN license in good standing
- BLS certification required
