JOB DESCRIPTION:
This program is designed to give Law Students rising from 1L to 2L year exposure to the criminal justice system and work environment at the County Attorney's Office. This opportunity will predominantly include legal research and writing projects that can be conducted remotely in large part. The students will also be able to contribute to the work of prosecution teams by assisting attorneys with trial and substantive hearing preparations. The program integrates interns into the office and allows them to assume some of the same responsibilities as our full-time personnel. This is an unpaid volunteer position but may be taken for school credit if the student’s educational establishment allows.- Example of Duties

TYPICAL CLASSIFICATION ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
Volunteers may assist in many aspects of litigation, including legal research, factual investigation, and drafting of memoranda and briefs, while also helping with policy research, and the development of public education materials. Pinal County dockets range across the legal landscape from civil to criminal cases, however these positions are within the criminal division of the County Attorney’s Office. Opportunities to observe some civil proceedings may be available, but is not guaranteed- Minimum Requirements
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS TO PERFORM WORK:
- Applicants should have excellent research and writing skills and the initiative and energy to see projects to completion in a fast-moving environment
- You must submit to fingerprints and pass a background investigation.
- Valid Arizona State Driver’s License is required within 30 days of hire.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Independent body mobility to stand, walk, bend, and sit for prolonged periods of time and/or drive a vehicle. Manual dexterity to reach, and grasp; manual dexterity to hand write or use computer keyboard; vision sufficient to see/read; hear and speak to communicate with customers in person and over the phone.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Position is located in an indoor office environment in Florence, Arizona. However the ability to work remotely, or a hybrid combination of both is available.
