International Turbo Systems is currently seeking A Law Clerk In Washington D.C. This is a full-time position in year 1 of a long-term contract with the S.E.C. This position includes Benefits, paid holidays, and paid vacation. To be considered please complete the brief questionnaire.
Responsibilities/Duties
Performs complex legal research for the trial staff. Assists in preparing draft legal documents, such as motions, briefs, memoranda of law, etc. reviewing documents for relevance and privilege; and assisting attorneys with all phases of litigation. Is expected to work independently on tasks without the need for continuous input from staff.
Qualifications
Must have law degree from an ABA-accredited law school. Requires sound working knowledge of federal and state court systems, legal research procedures, and legal research resources. Must have and use excellent oral and written communications skills to successfully interact with clients and attorneys. Requires thorough knowledge of legal research tools such as LEXIS/NEXIS, CLEAR, and Westlaw. Role also requires knowledge of e-discovery procedures and resources. Must be able to work effectively in an extremely pressured environment. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office 2010 or newer programs. Must have hands-on familiarity with a variety of computer applications, including databases (such as document review and file management systems), spreadsheets, and imaging.
Ideal Candidate
Should be familiar with drafting or editing Pleadings, Motions, Briefs and Judgments
Knowledge/experience of Administrative law is a plus
Capable of managing robust caseload of over 50 plus cases
Great organizational skills and able to pivot to most time sensitive matters on various cases
Self starter and works well independently
Computer Savvy, well versed in Microsoft Office, and able to learn and navigate other programs used
Communicates professionally and efficiently with attorneys and other legal staff
