About the Position: Hiscock Legal Aid (HLA) seeks someone with excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills to serve as a Law Assistant in our Family Court Program. The Law Assistant in this position serves a vital role in supporting attorneys who handle custody/visitation, order of protection, abuse/neglect, paternity, support violation, and other family law matters. The Law Assistant helps with calendaring, correspondence, document drafting, client intake, and other necessary tasks. HLA handles a high volume if Family Court cases each year, and strong organizational skills are essential to success in this role.

Qualifications: Paralegal Degree, Bachelor’s Degree, or equivalent work experience in a legal office. Strong organizational and interpersonal skills. Attention to detail. Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and other computer software. Cultural competency and ability to build a rapport with clients from diverse backgrounds. Ability to multi-task and work both independently and as part of a team. Diverse economic, social, and/or cultural experiences.

Wage Transparency: Fixed starting rate of $21.00 per hour.
