The Housekeeping Laundry Manager at American Airlines - The Landing at Skyview 6 is responsible for ensuring that all laundry services within the property meet the highest possible standards. He/she organizes and controls the laundry department and maintains all relevant records.
Responsibilities:
- Performs human resource functions for staff, including recruiting, training, scheduling, counseling, and appraising performance.
- Plan and anticipate business needs by reading and interpreting daily/ weekly occupancy report.
- Assigns and reviews the work of laundry employees engaged in receiving, washing, ironing, packaging, and delivering laundry to various departments or guests.
- Ensures laundry equipment and facility are in best operating condition, reporting all maintenance concerns and taking action to correct.
- Performs overall supervision of supply areas, and other storage areas by conducting tours of the areas.
- Ensures proper performance of laundry functions (usage of laundry chemicals and equipment) is in complete compliance with OSHA guidelines and requirements.
- Performs quarterly and daily inventories of Housekeeping Laundry supplies, linens, and chemicals.
- Communicates effectively with the Executive Housekeeper about activities progress and issues if any.
- Maintains and evaluates cleanliness standards according to procedures.
- Shares responsibility with Executive Housekeeper for monitoring, planning, payroll costs, budgets, and forecasts.
Requirements:
- This position requires a minimum formal education of a high school diploma.
- Minimum 2 years of Laundry leadership; Laundry hotel operations experience a plus.
- Must be able to abide by the company appearance standards and compliance with the designated uniform.
- Dedicated to exceeding service standards and providing services and standards to the highest caliber.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively, effectively interact with people of diverse socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds at all levels of the organization.
- Must be able to work variable shift, weekends, holidays, and special events, as needed.
- Must have employment eligibility in the U.S.
- Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, bend and use hands to handle objects, tools or controls.
- Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs. and work the majority of shift on feet.
- Frequently is required to talk or hear.
