Overview:
The Philadelphia Protestant Home (PPH), a vibrant senior living community located in Northeast Philadelphia, is seeking detail-oriented and reliable Laundry Aides to join our team. As a Laundry Aide, you will be responsible for ensuring the cleanliness and proper handling of all laundry items. This role is crucial in maintaining the high standards of cleanliness and hygiene in our community.
Responsibilities:
- Sort, wash, dry, fold, and iron laundry items according to facility standards
- Operate commercial laundry equipment such as washers, dryers, and ironing machines
- Inspect laundry items for stains or damages and report any issues to the supervisor
- Handle resident laundry requests promptly and efficiently
- Maintain inventory of clean linens and supplies
- Follow proper procedures for handling soiled linens and adhere to safety guidelines
- Assist with general cleaning duties in the laundry area as needed
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a similar role preferred
- Knowledge of dry cleaning and laundering techniques
- Ability to operate commercial laundry equipment effectively
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Excellent time management skills to ensure timely completion of tasks
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Physical stamina to handle repetitive tasks and lift heavy loads
- Flexibility to work weekends and holidays as required
