Lattice Boom Luffer Crane Operator Job Description:
- Experience operating a Lattice Boom Luffer Crane.
- Operates a crane to lift, move, and position loads such as components, equipment, and solid or bulk materials, complete final inspections in accurate and timely manner demonstrating an understanding of how the product fits together. Stop, think and ask if design or fabrication results appear unusual or not right.
- Plans all lifts, uses proper capacity charts, completes pre-lift/critical lift sheet.
- Observes load hookup and determine the safety of the load.
- Manipulates or depresses crane controls such as pedals, levers, and buttons, to regulate the speed and direction of crane and hoist movement.
- Uses hoisting attachments such as hook, sling, or clamps as load requires.
- Perform daily crane inspections.
- Cleans and maintains crane and hoisting mechanism.
- Inspects crane for defective parts and notifies supervisor of defects or malfunctions.
- Uses critical lift plan checklist and signs off on completion.
- Experience hoisting steel components.
- Experience operating a forklift.
- Load and unload materials
- Maintain positive working relationships with all members of the crew.
- Learn and understand all safety hazards related to the work.
- If unsure about any aspect of the work or issues regarding safe practices, ask a supervisor before continuing.
- Clean the work area and assist in keeping it safe.
- Work up to a 10-hour shift doing hard physical work in varying temperatures and outside conditions.
- Will lift, push, or pull objects up to 50lbs. on an occasional basis.
- Must be able to comply with all safety standards and procedures.
- May reach above shoulder heights and below the waist on a frequent basis.
- May stoop, kneel, or bend repetitively.
- Ability to wear personal protective equipment is required (including but not limited to; lace-up steel-toed shoes, gloves, safety glasses, hearing protection, hardhat, vest, face mask etc.)
- Move-in and around confined, cluttered and uneven areas.
- Exposure to loud noise, dust, potential unseen hazards, and heavy equipment operating within close range.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
OSHA – 10 preferred
Current DOT
NCCCO Certification (Lattice Boom Luffer Crane)
Valid Driver’s License
Four (4) years' experience in operating Lattice Boom Luffer Crane
Must be able to read, write and communicate in English.
Must be familiar with standard hand signals.
