This position may be filled remotely, or in any of our locations.

The Lateral Business Intake Liaison is responsible for managing the integration and onboarding for lateral attorneys joining the firm. This includes gathering the necessary information from lateral attorneys, Conflicts Counsel, and/or clients, reviewing and evaluating the accuracy of the information provided, before the information is allowed to be uploaded into firm systems. Additionally, the Lateral Business Intake Liaison will take the lead role in ensuring cross-functional collaboration during the integration and onboarding process. Essential job functions include:

  • Collaboration with administrative teams to facilitate the onboarding transition for the lateral attorney’s book of business.
  • Serve as the liaison and direct point of contact for the lateral attorney as they are onboarded and transitioned to the Firm.
  • Develop standard operating procedures for attorney and data onboarding.
  • Assist with communicating Firm policies and procedures relating to engagement documentation and make recommendations for changes when appropriate.
  • Oversee collection of required engagement and waiver documentation.
  • Constantly review, assess, recommend, and implement process, procedure, and technology improvements to ensure optimum customer service and efficiency; work with Business Intake & Conflicts management to evolve and grow the business function.
  • Review intake requests to ensure clarity in regard to the matter for the new or existing client.  Data mine for additional information when needed.
  • Verify all data is complete, consistent and accurate and adhere to established standards and procedures for onboarding client/matters.
  • Assist the Finance, Information Governance and Conflicts Departments with a wide range of research and other requests as may be assigned.
  • Assist in the training and development of other Conflict Analysts and/or Conflicts Clerks.
  • Coordinate with other administrative staff and other team members in order to meet deadlines, time-sensitive issues and other challenges.
  • Assist department leadership as needed.

 

Position Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required; 2-year degree preferred.
  • 3-5 years’ relevant experience in a legal or customer service environment is required, preferably in a professional services environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Microsoft Teams, and EMS required.
  • Exceptional critical thinking and analytical skills.
  • Excellent decision-making skills and demonstrated ability to think on your feet.
  • Excellent people skills – ability to work in a team-oriented and collaborative environment.
  • Excellent customer service skills and proficiencies.
  • Comfortable working with attorneys and other legal staff.
  • Comfortable in a high demand, fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to take ownership and work independently to resolve issues.
  • Flexibility in regard to work hours and schedule.
  • Discretion in handling confidential information.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

Employees are entitled to compensation commensurate with skill and experience. The exact compensation will vary based on skills, experience, location, and other factors permitted by law. The expected compensation ranges for this position in various states and jurisdictions are as follows:  

  • State of California: $60,000 - $114,000
  • State of Colorado: $55,000 - $98,000
  • Jersey City, NJ: $65,000 - $117,000
  • State of Massachusetts: $60,000 - $114,000
  • State of New York: $56,000 - $120,000
  • State of Washington: $58,000 - $110,000

The above salaries do not include a discretionary bonus, however bonus opportunities are non-guaranteed, and are dependent upon individual and firm performance.
