Lateral And Entry Level Ii Firefighter/Paramedic

The City of Huber Heights, Ohio, located just minutes from Wright-Patterson Air Force Base and in close proximity of the Dayton International Airport and the I-75/I-70 “Crossroads of America” interchange with a population of 43,439, is seeking qualified applicants for the position of full-time Firefighter/Paramedic.

The City of Huber Heights is a progressive Fire Division that is comprised of 61 career Firefighter/Paramedics running out of three stations serving the community utilizing state-of-art equipment and procedures. The City is conducting oral interviews to establish an eligibility list to fill 5 immediate openings for the position of full-time Firefighter/Paramedic.

Prior to appointment, the candidate must submit to an extensive background investigation, truth verification test, drug screen, physical ability test, physical and psychological examination. The approximate date for interviews will be the week beginning March 4, 2024 at Fire Division Headquarters, 7008 Brandt Pike. Individuals will be ranked based on their interview scores.

Minimum Requirements: Applicant must be at least 18 years of age; High School Diploma or GED equivalent; possess a valid Ohio Driver’s License; must possess an Ohio Level II Firefighter and Paramedic certificates or possess either certificate and/or are currently enrolled in a training program to complete the Level II and/or Paramedic. Applicant must possess both Ohio Level II Firefighter and Paramedic certifications at time of appointment.

The 2024 salary range (including holiday pay) is $60,209.92 to $88,693.76 with a five-step pay process. Starting salary step may be based on experience and qualifications. Salary range (including holiday pay) at the end of the current collective bargaining agreement in 2025 will be $61,863.68 to $91,130.88.
