**Main Objective
**
The Laser Machine Operator will set up and utilize laser equipment to produce metal parts within dimensional specifications.
**Key Responsibilities
**
The Laser Machine Operator must:
- Review job routings, CNC programs, CAD drawings, blueprints, and product specifications for material type, gauge, sheet size, tooling, and dimensional tolerances.
- Confirm lens alignment and tip size, adjusting focal point if needed for the material being processed.
- Ensure the correct thickness and size of parts or sheets according to the shop paperwork, sketch, and blueprints before loading the machine.
- Request that the CNC program for the part number to be processed be loaded onto the machine.
- Place sheets or parts on the laser table and initiate the laser sequence, observing the operation of the machine.
- Verify processed parts' angles, length, width, and hole size with appropriate measuring tools and compare the part to the sketch/drawing.
- Make necessary adjustments to meet product specifications and obtain first piece inspection approval.
- Complete the remaining parts following appropriate batch sorting and inspection procedures.
- Record time and piece count and ensure accuracy of shop routing estimates and piece count order requirements.
- Ensure excellent attendance to avoid production disruptions.

- Collaborate with others to gather information to successfully perform the job.

**Education and/or Experience
**
The Laser Machine Operator must have:
- 3-6 months of related work experience or on-the-job training with a qualified individual who has a thorough knowledge of the equipment and its functions.
- A high school diploma or equivalent.
