Landscape Supervisor

The HOA Landscape Supervisor will be responsible for maintaining the grounds of the association common areas. Key responsibilities include assisting the Community Association Manager, Director of Agronomy, and serving as the primary contact for the association’s contracted landscape vendor.  

The Madison Club is open during the winter & spring season, and this role will be full time. Preferred candidates will have a flexible schedule, be able to work weekends & holidays, and understand that time off requests will not be honored during March or April (key event/ festival months).

Responsibilities

• Maintain common areas to include but not limited to weeding, mulching, pruning, use of blowers and raking. 
• Maintain and prepare common area in Villa homes for member arrivals and ongoing maintenance, as needed.
• Serve as liaison between HOA and contracted Landscape Company, including attending property inspections, and overseeing maintenance of landscape to reach common area goals.
• Assist with landscape projects as requested.
• Oversee HOA staff on day-to-day operations and delegate work to ensure execution of efficient crew production.
• Report and discuss personnel matters with Community Association Manager.
• Report any safety or maintenance issues immediately to the Community Manager.
• Keep Community Manager informed about landscape/maintenance items and provide weekly landscape reports.
• Safe operation of all tools and equipment.
• Keep all work areas orderly and neat.   
• Participate in daily set-up/closing of the departments’ tools and equipment.   
• Attend department meetings and trainings as necessary. 
• Any other duties as assigned.  

Skills and Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of irrigation, irrigation repairs, and water conservation.
• Knowledge of perennials, shrubs, trees, and annuals.
• Plant knowledge/Horticultural Practices knowledge a plus.
• Knowledge of maintenance/handyman. Must be able to use basic tools i.e., saws, paint sprayers, basic electrical knowledge
• Ability to stay calm and focused during the busiest of times.
• Ability to lead and manage others
• Ability to work in a team environment and operate in a safe, professional manner at all times.
• Strong attention to detail
• Strong written skills
• Ability to learn and navigate the property to complete assigned job tasks.
• Ability to operate landscape machinery
• Ability to meet the physical demands of the position including, but not limited to, working outdoors in all weather conditions, standing, walking, and moving for periods of greater than eight (8) hours, and lifting and carrying items sometimes greater than fifty (50) pounds.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
• Ability to follow oral and written directions in English.
• Possess a valid driver’s license and ability to operate vehicles.
