Overview:
We are seeking a talented and creative Landscape Designer to join our team. As a Landscape Designer, you will be responsible for designing and planning outdoor spaces that are both aesthetically pleasing and functional. You will work closely with clients to understand their needs and preferences, and then develop detailed plans and drawings to bring their vision to life.
Responsibilities
- Preparing and drawing plans for each client’s unique space
- Collaborating with clients and their ideas to fully understand their vision
- Discovering and addressing conflicts between client preferences and end functionality of a design
- Putting together full plans to illustrate how a new design will integrate into an existing space
- Meeting with clients regarding budgetary details, design requirements and project completion timelines
- Consult with clients to determine project requirements and goals
- Develop design concepts and plans using landscape design software
- Create detailed drawings of landscape designs, including measurements, materials, and plant types
- Oversee the construction and installation of landscape designs a plus, but not required
- Choose plants and materials that are appropriate for the site/state and meet client preferences and budget
Qualifications
- Experience with hardscapes and softscapes preferred
- Ability to quote projects a plus but not required
- Bachelor's degree in landscape design, horticulture, or related field, or a minimum of 5 years’ experience in landscape design
- Professional certification, such as from the Association of Professional Landscape Designers
- Strong knowledge of landscape design principles, plant materials, and environmental challenges
- Proficiency in landscape design software, such as AutoCAD or SketchUp
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently
This position is Part Time and can be held as an independent designer. You deal directly with the clients and get paid directly from the clients. There are other options available and open for discussion.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $20,293.50 - $40,138.41 per year
Expected hours: 10 per week
