Land Survey Technician (Lidar)

HWC Engineering is currently seeking a highly motivated individual who is ready to help us take LiDAR Collection and Extraction to the next level. The candidate must be willing to devote their passion to not only continue learning LiDAR and CAD software packages, but also be able to train other team members. HWC Engineering’s Survey Department works closely with other departments to provide quality deliverables for projects across all our engineering related public and private clients.

HWC Engineering has a robust workforce of 25 staff members within the Survey Department. The Survey Department has been utilizing drones for workflows for over 5 years and continues to implement new technology into our workflows to keep employees safe and valuable to our clients. With seven (7) licensed Land Surveyors within the department, we take pride in the quality of our deliverables and love mentoring individuals within the profession.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

• Utilizing CAD software ranging from preprocessing data, production work, and documentation.
• Communicate and interact with staff members.
• Document Best Practices.
• Work closely with licensed surveyors and project managers.
• Work flexible hours to meet scheduled deadlines.
• Data Management Workflows.
• Extract accurate and complete planimetric and surfaces within a Point Cloud environment.
• Learn and Train others utilizing TopoDOT software.
• Learn and Train others utilizing Pix4D family of software.
• Visit job sites and perform drone flights.
• QA/QC.

WHAT YOU NEED

• An associate degree in a field related to Geomatics/Land Surveying.
• Experience in LiDAR data collection and processing.
• Proficiency in CAD software.
• The ability to multitask and be detailed-oriented.
• Survey field experience (recommended).
