We are looking for a Lead Construction Inspectors for our Lake Charles, Shreveport and Lafayette project locations to join our team. The right candidate will have a background in the field, excellent attention to detail and a commitment to safety. Lead Construction Inspector is to monitor daily on-site quality assurance, construction progress and prepare daily quality assurance reports to streets, highways, bridge, drainage and other utilities projects.
Responsibilities:
- High School diploma with min 10 years experience related to oversite of Construction Inspectors
- LADOTD certifications (OUT OF STATE DOTD CERTS MAY BE ACCEPTABLE TO LADOTD)
- Embankment and Base Course are preferable, STRUCTURAL CONCRETE A PLUS!.
- Computer skills include Microsoft Office Software including MS Word and MS Excel
- Work with architects, contractors, and engineers on a daily basis.
- Communication Skills both oral and written in English
- Ability to read and comprehend civil engineering drawings and specifications
- Serves as the primary point of contact with the assigned project contractors regarding location of work crews each day and advises field staff where to report.
- Ensures assigned projects are adequately staffed and meeting client's expectations.
- Interprets contract plans, specifications and other project related documentation.
- Evaluates contract changes and conflict resolution.
- Provides day-to-day instruction for the senior inspectors and field inspectors.
- Manages the documentation and performance of the senior inspectors and field inspectors.
- Attends meetings with clients, contractors, testing labs and field staff as needed.
- Creates training materials and conducts classes to improve overall inspection team.
- Manages and conducts new hire orientations and training.
- Supervise the work of employees. Provide constructive feedback and counsel to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
- Lead employees to meet expectations for productivity, quality, and goal accomplishment.
- Conducts site visits on a regular basis to ensure field staff is adequately trained and performing tasks correctly.
- Conducts inspector performance evaluation meetings.
- Manages, troubleshoots, and repairs computers for entire field inspection staff.
- Meets with client to ensure project is being completed per plans and specifications. Also coordinates the resolution of conflicts and issues with the client's management team.
- Assist Project Manager, VP, & HR in various tasks as requested.

Pay: $32.00 - $37.00 per hour
