Our Lactation Consultants
Manage and/or support a caseload of patients across the perinatal and breastfeeding continuum (assessment, care planning, intervention, and evaluation).
Provide lactation services to patients on an as-needed basis, working with other care providers to triage need. Dedicated time for hospital-wide availability is provided. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
a. direct care to lactating patients as needed
b. availability to provide immediate resource to patients
c. consultation to perinatal staff to assist in the lactation support of
their patients
Manage a specific caseload of patients during the inpatient period and outpatient as appropriate.
Contribute to the development of standards, protocols and procedures as needed.
Schedule
60%, 3 - eight hour day shifts/week.
Have/obtain a Washington State RN license to practice or a current MSL.
Two or more years of current/recent experience in nursing care of breastfeeding families.
IBCLC (International Board of Certified Lactation Consultant) certification
