Yard laborers utilize the proper equipment to fulfill orders received from the sales office via radio, verbal, or pick tickets. They must be able to perform physical labor for extended periods of time and in all-weather conditions. Must be able to work with minimal oversight, but also be willing to follow directions closely.
Qualifications
Prior experience operating heavy equipment is preferred but not necessary.
Strong communication skills both verbal and written.
Willingness to learn about the industry.
Ability to provide and receive feedback from peers, supervisors, and customers.
Spanish speaking is a plus, but not required.
Responsibilities
Perform basic preventative maintenance on equipment as needed.
Help load customers vehicles.
Monitor Environmental compliance (dust) of area.
Help maintain a presentable and friendly environment in and around the store/yard.
Ensure products are stocked and orderly.
Operate various types of heavy equipment such as: water trucks, front-end wheel loaders, forklifts, dump trucks.
Physical Requirements
Ability to spend up to 100% of working time standing, walking, and moving around the store.
Ability to regularly bend at the waist, squat, kneel, climb, carry, reach, and stoop.
Ability to occasionally push, pull, and lift more than 60 pounds.
