Our client, a leader in agricultural innovation, is seeking an Insectary Lab Technician to join their team. As a Lab Technician, you will be part of the Insectary team supporting insect management research. The ideal candidate will have a background in Biology, be comfortable working with live insects, and possess excellent organizational and detail-oriented skills.
Job Title: Laboratory Technician
Location: Indianapolis, IN
Pay: $21/h + benefits
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in routine care and maintenance of insect colonies for insect management research.
- Prepare insect diets and support various insect management research trials.
- Adhere to safety and compliance protocols, including the use of appropriate PPE for tasks involving potential allergens.
- Work collaboratively in a team environment and independently on solitary tasks.
- Complete tasks with little supervision after the initial training period, demonstrating fast learning and flexibility.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Biology, Environmental Science, Entomology, or Chemistry.
- Comfort and experience working with live insects.
- Lab tech experience is a plus.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to follow SOPs and verbal instructions.
- Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment, manage time effectively, and adapt to changing tasks and priorities.
