Job Description
The Balogh laboratory in the College of Veterinary Medicine is recruiting a Laboratory Technician. This position is a research position where the candidate will function independently and responsibly while reporting directly to Dr. Orsolya Balogh. This candidate will also assist the primary investigator (PI) with operational oversight of the laboratory. This individual is expected to support research efforts focused on a canine model of reproductive conditions using a variety of techniques. The majority of time will be devoted to research efforts, with a smaller proportion of time devoted to lab maintenance, training, and oversight. Part time work is possible; percentage time and days per week worked are negotiable.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's of Science degree or equivalent in Physiology, Biology, Biochemistry, or related discipline, or equivalent training and/or experience working in a laboratory setting.
- Experience with immunohistochemistry, and/or molecular assays, and/or Western blot or ELISA.
-Experience using word processing and spreadsheet software.
-Ability to work independently, organize, and assume responsibility.
-Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications
-Experience with cell culture techniques
-Participation in project writing and manuscript publication
