QUALIFICATIONS
- MBi is seeking a new Laboratory Technician with a background in chemistry, microbiology or another closely related field who is highly motivated, detail oriented and self driven.
- Excellent entry level position for new college graduates.
- Minimum education: Bachelor’s degree in Microbiology, Chemistry, Biology or another related field of science.
- Competency in laboratory safety and analytical techniques.
- Must be able to handle various projects at the same time.
- Highly organized
- Able to converse fluently in English, verbally and in writing.
- Able to lift at least 50 pounds.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Clean, calibrate and maintain laboratory equipment, including glassware.
- Perform chemical and microbiological analyses per product specifications and approved procedures including raw material and finished product sampling, preparation of samples, and results interpretation.
- Perform testing on in-process and finished products to ensure products meet specifications per FDA GLP/GMP guidelines (21 CFR Part 111).
- Evaluate/test raw materials, packaging materials, and labels to ensure vendor and company specification compliance.
- Perform system suitability checks for balances and other measuring devices used in production and laboratory testing.
- Monitor and maintain the deionized (DI) water system.
- Maintain inventory of chemicals in the laboratory and facility.
- Maintain laboratory supplies, including prepared reagents.
- Other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS
1. Experience working in a Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) and/or Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) laboratory is highly desired.
2. Experience working in a chemical and/or microbiology laboratory, including analysis of raw and/or finished nutraceutical products highly desired.
3. Fluency in Spanish is highly desirable.

Pay: $18.00 - $23.00 per hour
